§ 10-114. Unlawful conduct; public nuisance.
(a)
It shall be unlawful for any person to use, maintain, own, occupy, or to allow the use, maintenance, or occupancy of any structure that does not comply with the requirements of this article. "Person" for the purposes of this section includes any individual, partnership, corporation, association, or other type of entity capable of owning or managing property, or an agent, servant, or employee of any individual, partnership, corporation, association, or other entity capable of owning or managing property.
(b)
The inspector is hereby deemed a peace officer for the limited purpose of enforcing the provisions of this article, and shall have the power to issue complaints and summons for violations of these provisions, pursuant to Rule 204, Municipal Court Rules of Procedure, and section 22-23 of the Code.
(c)
A violation of any of the provisions of this article is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and may be abated according to the procedures established in article IV of chapter 30 of Code regarding the abatement of nuisances.
