§ 62-227. Termination of water service.

  • (a)

    The city shall, at least ten days prior to the suspension of water service, send written notice of such suspension to the user and property owner. Such notice shall inform the parties of the amount due, the shutoff date and that suspension of service may be avoided by payment in full before the shutoff date of the outstanding balance, including any late fees. The notice will be sent by regular mail to the parties' last known address as shown on the utility department records.

    (b)

    To reinstate service, the property owner or user must pay in full the outstanding balance due, including any late fees, plus a turn-on fee as prescribed by resolution of city council in accordance with section 1-16.
