§ 58-103. Declaration of snowstorm alert.

  • The city manager, upon recommendation of the public works director or police chief, may declare a snowstorm alert to be in effect. The recommendation may be made upon learning of a forecast of or the existence of accumulations or drifting of snow or sleet or freezing rain. When a snowstorm alert has been declared, the city manager shall issue a press release, or notice to the public, declaring the existence of a snowstorm alert and requesting that vehicle use be restricted to four-wheel drive vehicles or vehicles equipped with adequate snow tires or chains.
