§ 10-105. Fire protection.

(a)

General. Required fire-rated assemblies shall be maintained as specified in the building code. Such assemblies shall be properly repaired, restored, or replaced when damaged, altered, breached, penetrated, removed, or improperly installed. Fire protection equipment, including, but not limited to, extinguishing systems, fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers, shall be maintained in good and safe working condition as required by the fire department.

(b)

Smoke detector requirements. Smoke detectors shall be provided in conformance with the least restrictive provisions of the building code.
